What is a Wiki?

How do I edit pages?
- In order to edit pages in XWiki there is a link towards the top of the page that says "Edit This Page"

- Once that is clicked a website with a text area should load, in this text area is where you enter anything you want to be displayed on the page
- The basic syntax for XWiki is listed on the right hand side of the window, for a more comprehensive syntax listing XWiki Syntax, or to try out some things go to the XWiki Playground Playground
How do I create new pages?
- There are two ways to create a new page, both are described below
- Make a link to the new page from an already existing page.
- Example: If I was editing this page and I wanted to create a new one I would create a link to it
- The other way is to navigate to the page you want to create.
- Example: If I wanted to again make a page names NewPageName I would type http://trinity.db.cs.rpi.edu/xwiki/bin/edit/Main/NewPageName in the address bar, and if will come up with a textbox to enter the new content for the page
How do I register?
- At the top right of the screen there is a link to register

- You will be asked to supply information like a username, and password in order to sign up

What is the 'WYSIWYG Editor'?
- WYSIWYG stands for What You See Is What You Get
- When you click on this link while editing a page it gives a an interface similar to Microsoft Word for editing documents
- You will notice a toolbar above the text area that have different options for you to select
How do I add images and/or attachments?
- To add images and/or attachments you first have to click the "Add an Attachment" link near the top

- Then when the page loads it ask you to browse for the file, and optionally enter a new filename
- When you hit submit it uploads the image to the web server, and shows the "Add an Attachment" page incase you want to upload another image/attachment
- Note there currently is a bug if you try to add an image/attachment from the option at the bottom of the page, so please avoid trying to do so, and use the "Add an Attachment" link
